Level 2 Cold Weather Alert

Level 2 Cold Weather Alert for South East England

We are at Level 2 Cold Weather Alert:  Severe winter weather is forecast.  There is a 70% probability of severe cold weather/icy conditions between 0900 on Monday 27th November and 0900 on Saturday 2nd December in South East England.

It will be colder, mainly from Wednesday onward with widespread frost and occasional wintry showers affecting the far east. Some snowfall and ice is possible in places with significant wind-chill at times in strong winds. Mean temperatures of 2°C and/or widespread ice and heavy snow increase the risk of ill health for vulnerable people, particularly the elderly and those with long term health conditions.

West Berkshire’s webpage http://info.westberks.gov.uk/index.aspx?articleid=31901 has further advice and information about cold weather.

We are still in seasonal Flu season so if you are eligible, please remember to get your flu vaccination to help you stay well during the winter period. This general leaflet outlines who should have the flu jab: http://bit.ly/2jrEjJ8
