Road closure – A329, Purley

West Berkshire Council’s contractor, Volker Highways Ltd, will be undertaking essential carriageway resurfacing on the A329 Purley Rise (from Sherwood Rise roundabout to Long Lane), as shown on the plan below. The works will start on Saturday 27 June 2020 between 6.00 pm and 12.00 midnight and should be completed on Sunday 28 June 2020 between 8.00 am and 6.00 pm. The resurfacing will be undertaken using a formal road closure and signed diversion route to provide a safe working zone for the workforce and motorists.

Every effort will be made to maintain access to private properties directly adjacent to the repairs; although, due to the nature of the works there will be some delays and inconvenience for vehicle drivers.

The UK Government has confirmed that the continuation of local infrastructure repairs is a key priority in light of the COVID-19 outbreak. All staff involved will follow the guidelines to avoid spreading the virus.

Information boards will be erected on site and whilst these works are weather dependent, every effort will be made to complete these works as per the programme.
