West Berkshire Council Highways have informed us of the following roadworks which are planned for February Half Term week.
These are to replace time expired electrical cables to the village centre businesses and dwellings with the supply running directly under the main road.
The area affected is the Ninos/Garlands/Costas/Davis Tate section by the pedestrian crossing . It is planned to keep one side of the road open to traffic at all times ( managed by manned lights 7am-7pm) and this will swap over as they work on first one side and then the other. A temporary pedestrian crossing should be installed as well as access ramps .
We understand that this will cause disruption , however , these works have been planned for February half term as it is historically one of the quietest weeks of the year in an attempt to keep disruption to a minimum.
